Currently serving as Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), Professor Memon has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to public health research, policy development, and education. With a career spanning several decades, he has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, focusing on critical global health issues including COVID-19, smoking cessation, cancer prevention, and mental health.

The President’s Medal is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and leadership in improving population health. Professor Memon’s work has had far-reaching impact, shaping both national and international public health frameworks.
