According to UNICEF , Pakistan has one of the highest infant mortality rates  in the world. Almost 55 children die out of every 1000 live births because of a lack of awareness, lack of training amongst medical professionals and inadequate natal care. Therefore, SHINE decided to intervene and alleviate this issue through our initiative called tSunehra Lamha - Helping Babies Survive Workshop- inspired from the program designed by American Academy of Pediatrics.

Helping Babies Survive(HBS) is an initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics in collaboration with the World Health Organization(WHO), adopted by SHINE Humanity in Pakistan. In these workshops, SHINE trains various techniques to help newborn babies survive and reduce infant mortality and morbidity especially in limited-resource regions like remote areas in Pakistan.

Recently, we were invited to the 18th Biennial international Scientific conference organized by the Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists of Pakistan on the 27th of February,2022 at Movenpick Hotel.

Our community outreach manager, Syed Uzair Mahmood, taught infant resuscitation to medical students and trainees. These workshops are useful to reduce mortality, and SHINE needs your donations to minimize the number of Infant Mortality by arranging these workshops!
