In December, I was looking for internships after the end of my first semester. I searched on IBA Job portal and all of a sudden, I saw the SHINE Humanity Winter Internship Program. As I dug in deep, I learned that it is a non-governmental organization (NGO) which works for healthcare and welfare of the under-served communities in rural Pakistan. . Their clinics extend over many areas of interior Sindh. I had a gut feeling that this was meant for me. Soon after, I found myself in the short listed candidates. I had applied for Program Internship at SHINE Humanity. Shortly afterward, I started my work with an amazing team.
Working in this healthcare and social welfare sector did not only help me gain work experience but also the fact that I was working for under-served communities gave me a sense of pride and satisfaction. This internship helped me learn the clinical setups, their working and management. I had the opportunity to work on interesting tasks and activities that involved vlogging my journey to SHINE Humanity clinic in Gharo. Then, I also conducted patient satisfaction survey reports and recorded their evaluative interviews.
From a very young age I have always wanted to join in hands with any charitable or welfare organizations like SHINE Humanity. I am glad that I got this opportunity that helped me collect some substantial experiences.
